PROPERTIES AT HARTHILL HALL

(sleeping 2-18)

HH front Site Labelled.jpg

Nestling in 14 acres of Peak District National Park, this was a position chosen for one of the earliest settlements in Derbyshire. Here in 1259 Sir Richard de Hartle was issued a Papal Bull by Pope Alexander II allowing him to appoint his own chaplain, and what was the original Hall House became a Chapel and was used as a place of worship until 1546.

Surrounding the Hall's dramatic cobbled courtyard, the listed buildings have been carefully converted with much thought and consideration being taken to retain many of the original features.

Harthill Hall was founded in the 13th century and is a Grade II listed building. The Manor House is the main house of Harthill Hall, constructed in the 16th century and complete with stone flagged floors, oak beams, ancient carved oak doors, etc. Our other properties are sympathetic conversions of the outbuildings - including the Chapel, which was the original 14th century building on the site.
